None

Many, Lord my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare. Psalm 40 : 5

Control

One thing God will never do is to control human beings.

[ The Believer’s Freedom ] “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive.

Well Rooted

Roots

It’s a good thing to be well rooted whether referring to families or to plants. My family roots come out of the sunny island of Barbados.

On my last visit, I became fascinated with the beauty of the trees, also with the roots that seemed to force themselves above ground as they continued to grow.

We also need to be well rooted in Jesus, as He is the one who sustains our life.

If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you. Romans 11 : 18

Upward Climbing

Climbing

IMG_7085 Upward Climb copy.jpg

Climbing a mountain can be very strenuous. I imaging it would be painful, exhausting, exhilarating, yet at the same time depleting you of your energy supply. Some even die along the way while trying to make it to the top of a mountain.

Our Christian walk is one of faith and it could be liken to climbing a mountain. It will also be difficult at times, painful and exhausting, but if we take a firm grip of the hand of Jesus A Tenacious Hold On His Garment He will see us through. There may be blood shed along the way, sweat and tears also, but God will see us through. He will take us to the top of the mountain. So my pray for all Christians is, that we may keep climbing and that we may one day reach our reward.

Unfamiliar Paths

“God leads us on by paths we did not know;

Upward He leads us, though our steps be slow,

Though oft we faint and falter on the way,

Though storms and darkness oft obscure the day;

Yet when the clouds are gone,

We know He leads us on.”

A Gripping Case Of Interrupted Symbiosis

Symbiosis

My mother Holding me

Last night I got the opportunity to go with a group of friends to see the play “How Black Mothers Say I Love You,” by Trey Anthony. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYpohFr7xvQ  At first, I was a bit hesitant to go, (because as a black person, I felt like I already knew,) but went any way. This play brought up a lot of Societal Issues. It talked about Inter Racial Marriages, Adoption, Teen Age Pregnancy, Abortion, Cancer, Death, Church, Same Sex Relationships, but most of all it spoke on the many interrupted cases of Symbiosis experienced between child and mother within the West Indian Family.

Mother attending a wedding in England

As infants, we depend on our parents for everything, but in many cases, the symbiosis between mother and child in the West Indian Community was broken. The mother in most  cases, left the child with a Grandparent to go to another country, example: England, United States or Canada, to seek a better way of life for the family. However, six or ten-years of separation can seem like a life time to a child, and in many cases family relationships were damaged, as that critical time for bonding was lost.

This play was funny and it was also sad. It also brought me to a realization as to how many of us share similar stories. Even though it was a play about black mothers, in the audience could be seen many Caucasians and Asians. We all stand to learn from each other, if we would take the time to listen and try to understand and have compassion for one another.

Ordinary Can Become Extraordinary

Instead of travelling on these busy, noisy, polluted familiar streets

One day, I expect to walk on Streets of Gold.

Instead of waking to dull cloudy routine days,

One day, I will bathe in Jesus’ Light.

This body that is now racked with aches and pains will heal.

For one day, in a twinkling of an eye, we will be changed to perfected bodies.

Instead of neglect, abuse, sadness and shedding of tears,

One day, smiles and joy will show on every face

Instead of longing to dine with earthly Kings,

One day we will be invited to sit and dine with our Heavenly King.

All those who believe in Christ, who may seem ordinary or just plain weak,

One day soon, those same Christians will rise to live Extra Ordinary lives.

Revelation 21: 21 ……And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent crystal. AMP
