A Bible Character I Would Like To Meet

Scroll down to content

One Bible character I would like to meet is Enoch. This is about the daily prompt: If you could meet a historical figure, who would it be and why?

The Bible doesn’t tell us much about Enoch. So I would speak to him and find out how he worshipped. He must have had a good relationship because the Bible said he walked with God, and God took him. But we also get a hint that perhaps Enoch didn’t always walk with God. It seems like the first 65 years of his life he did not have a serious relationship with God. But something changed, and he would walk with God for the next three hundred years.

Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah. 22 After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters. 23 So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. 24 And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him. Genesis 5:21-24

    1. Yes, it would be interesting to meet him. And I wonder what he was like, or what he did for the first 65 years of his life. Because it said after 65 years he walked with God. The only other person that was also taken up without facing death was Elijah. That’s another awesome story. And I love what Elisha did as Elisha was being taken up. He asked for a double portion of his spirit to be on him. This is the kind of thing we should be seeking after.
