What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

The Best Advice:

The best advice I ever received came from the Bible. I have to say that when I was younger, I looked to others to give me advice, but it only led to me being more confused.

I also looked to others for advice and turned to self-help or improvement books. The self-help books were quite inspiring. And they did help in some way. However, my best advice would come from the Bible.

The Best Advice From The Bible:

I remember from the self-improvement books that I needed to focus on what I wanted. Then, I would repeat positive words in my mind and eventually see that thing happening. Then, if I wanted to get close to someone, I practiced other positive moves. But all this I was doing in my strength.

The self-help books took me only so far. Furthermore, they were leading in many instances to material things.

The best advice one can receive is to stay on the right path.
The Best Advice

Biblical Advice:

The Bible can be difficult to read and understand, but anything worthwhile does not usually come easy. Though some things may be difficult to understand, other Scriptures in the Bible are very straightforward.

The best advice I got from the Bible was to seek things of the heavenly kingdom first and to become more like Jesus.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33

Conclusion:

When you and I seek God first, it becomes a way of living. He then, through His Holy Spirit, leads us to the right path. And we learn to seek Him and to rely on Him for the best advice.

The advantage of relying on God’s word is that we will be less confused. And we don’t have to depend solely on the advice of others.

I also gained much confidence, and also great Spiritual wealth. And even though I remain poor, I now feel rich beyond measure.

  1. Love this – “When you and I seek God first, it becomes a way of living. He then, through His Holy Spirit, leads us to the right path. And we learn to seek Him and to rely on Him for the best advice.”

  2. The Bible is a complete book. It contains all the answers that anyone can ask in this world. A lot of heartache, stress and frustration would be avoided if only people knew what the word of God says about a particular situation. Also, it is not wise for a person to study God’s word without praying for the help of the Holy Spirit. A person can’t understand God’s word without the Spirit of God. The Bible says that the Holy Spirit shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance.
