Daily writing prompt
What personality trait in people raises a red flag with you?

A Red Flag:

What raises a red flag with me, is when someone will say one thing, but then I see them doing another. They will tell you how gentle and kind they are, and then they will try to dominate and control you.

Without a doubt, when conversing with a person like this, they will dominate the conversation and you won’t get a chance to speak. And thus they are showing their aggressive behavior.

Red Flags raised when one animal is seen preying on another. This is representing how humans prey on each other.
Preying On Another

Another red flag that is raised with me, is when a person tells me all they think about is money and how to make it. They tell you that they have much, but yet if someone less fortunate owes them a small amount, they want it back and probably with interest.

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and [z]mammon. (money.) Matthew 6:24

As well as having lots of money, they will let you know how many charities they give to, showing how kind they are. But yet no compassion is shown for others living on the streets.

Instead of showing compassion, what they are showing is how they say one thing but do another.

Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, Matthew 6:2-3

  1. I agree with both of these and feel the same way. I think actions speak louder than words so when someone speaks sweetly but their actions don’t match I choose to believe their actions not words.
