Fight The Good Fight:
Scripture tells you that you should fight the good fight. But many are fighting for what doesn’t belong to them.
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called, and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6:12
Two Herons In A Fight:
Not only are humans battling for territory, but so are the animals.
It was a big bay, with enough space for the two to fish. But one blue heron sought to fight, whenever the other heron came close.
A Haughty Look And Ready To Do Battle:
Neither of the Great Blue Herons shows signs of backing down. This other heron faces the one with the head in the air and seems also ready to fight.
Herons Come Face To Face:
Even animals (birds) will claim what does not belong to them. This is a fight for food at migration time.
Not Backing Down From The Fight:
You are told that in order to keep the peace, it’s best to walk away from a fight. But here, you have neither heron willing to back down.
…. Seek peace and pursue it. Psalm 34:14
The Conflict Begins:
The two herons actively take on each other. Though they could both share the space, each one wants it for himself.
One Heron Winning The Fight:
One Blue heron takes down the other heron. And it is only at this point that the other heron sought to run away. Even then, the aggressor pursued him.
Seeking Peace Instead Of Fighting:
Many times you may also walk with that haughty look, just like the blue heron. But God wants you and me to live peaceful lives with one another.
But the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. Psalm 37:11
