Let Down By Those We Know:
I think that it is safe to say, most of us have probably felt a sense of betrayal in our lives. You could have felt this in school, in the church, or in your place of employment. When we are face with being betrayed, it is bound to evoke other emotions. Anger, shame and depression could be a few of the negative emotions to be stirred up within. When you are betrayed, it is usually by someone close to you who has done the betraying. This is something most of us are guilty of, whether we choose to admit it or not.
The Bible tells us that we will also be betrayed for acknowledging and being a witness for Christ.
You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers and sisters, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. Luke 21:16
None of us want to die. but if we should die being a witness for Jesus Christ, we are sure to rise up one day to live in eternity with Him. This is our hope.
Jesus Faced The Ultimate Betrayal:
Shame may be the worse that will happen to us, but for Jesus it was death. If you don’t know the story there is no need to be sad though. We may be shocked to find out what our friends may say about us or do when we are not around. Jesus however, knew everything that would take place before it did.

Jesus Predicts His Betrayal
“I am not referring to all of you; I know those I have chosen. But this is to fulfill this passage of Scripture: ‘He who shared my bread has turned against me.’ John 13:18
19 “I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe that I am who I am. 20 Very truly I tell you, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.”
21 After he had said this, Jesus was troubled in spirit and testified, “Very truly I tell you, one of you is going to betray me.” John 13:19-21
The Two Faces Of Friendships:
I’m sure we have all had the friend who hugged and kiss us, but as soon as our backs were turned, our names were hot on their lips.
Judas was one of the followers of Jesus and one of His disciples. He brought the men to arrest Jesus. He then betrayed Jesus with a kiss.
Jesus Arrested:
47 While he was still speaking a crowd came up, and the man who was called Judas, one of the Twelve, was leading them. He approached Jesus to kiss him, 48 but Jesus asked him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”
49 When Jesus’ followers saw what was going to happen, they said, “Lord, should we strike with our swords?” 50 And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear.
51 But Jesus answered, “No more of this!” And he touched the man’s ear and healed him.
52 Then Jesus said to the chief priests, the officers of the temple guard, and the elders, who had come for him, “Am I leading a rebellion, that you have come with swords and clubs? 53 Every day I was with you in the temple courts, and you did not lay a hand on me. But this is your hour—when darkness reigns.”
If you do not know the truth about Jesus, you may be upset to see how He was treated above. When one of the disciples cut off the ear of the man that was there to arrest Jesus, Jesus reached out His hand and healed the man’s ear. So no need to be upset or sadden. It was for this reason that Jesus came to this earth. He knew what would happen to Him before it did. The grave could not keep Him in. Jesus conquered death, by rising from the grave. And it is because of this, that we will get the opportunity to live in eternity with Him again. He will return to this earth a second time, for all those who believe in Him.

All that Jesus went through makes it so he is our Sympathetic High Priest. He understands what it is like to live in this life.
Yes, I’m so glad that He understands and can be sympathetic towards us.
Come oh, Lord Jesus. Our hearts are waiting, to see Your glory!
Yes, come Lord Jesus.
