Showered With Gifts:

The Best Gift Giver can be easily found, and we should not settle for less. We all love when we receive the perfect gift. Some people will even go to the extreme, to make themselves attractive in order to receive a gift. Many consequences can follow when we look solely at the gift and not at the gift giver.

Promises Turned Into A Gift:

There are many promises in the Bible, and you and I will claim them with the hope of receiving them. We know these promises by heart. Here are two of the many promises.

And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” 1 Chronicles 4:10

Many of us claim the above promise. We live hoping that God would fulfill this promise. He would do this by gifting us with larger living quarters. We then dream about such a promise coming true. We may even set things in motion to make this wish become a reality. Then we further think about all the wonderful things we will do, if God was to grant us our hearts desire.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

The above scripture is another one of the many promises that we claim and hang on too dearly. We keep waiting to be awarded with this gift. But what is God was already trying to give it to us? What if His hand is outstretched waiting for us to take it? Would we know where and how to locate His hand?

While we know 1 Chronicles 4:10 very well, could it be the it is because of 1 Chronicles 4:9 why God granted Jabez his prayer? Perhaps it’s because Jabez had a close relationship with God the Gift Giver. He knew who God was and accepted His will.

Seeking And Finding The Best Gift Giver:

It is very sad that many of us know Jeremiah 29:11 by heart, yet many of us do not know the next two verses. When we acknowledge the next two verses, perhaps this is when we will find the Best Gift Giver.

It is no secret. God tells us how He can be found. Many keep overlooking Him, and only look to what He has to offer. God’s word in Jeremiah 29:12-13 tells us: “Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”

What does it mean to search for someone with all your heart? This is a task that must be undertaken every second of every day. The beauty of it is, we can connect with Jesus anywhere. He lives in our hearts, He lives in our minds. Jesus wants us to come to Him in prayer. He wants us to talk to Him. He wants us to get to know Him through His Word. Only then will we see how much He has already given us, and how much more He still has to give.

Conclusion:

We need to pay more attention to seeking the Gift Giver, and establishing a relationship with Him. When we do this, we truly see His limitless blessings. He bestows us with them each and every day.
