If you’re reading my blog for the first time welcome and I hope you will stop by often. Right now I am writing a series of Elfchen poems which will be mainly Bible base or on nature. I understand from my blogging friend Richard who also writes poems, that the word “Elfchen” means Elevenies, since these poems will have only Eleven words. You can check out some of Richard’s poems here Big Sky Buckeye At times you may also find me writing Haiku poems which will be a little different than Elfchen…both are very enjoyable to write, and what I like most about them; You can relay a message in very few words.
Garment like snow
Hair like pure wool
A Glimpse Of God:
Only a few places in the Bible gives us a hint as to God’s outward appearance. We see Him wearing clothing that is the colour of snow (white,) and in the below scripture we are told that His hair is like pure wool. So if we look at wool we see what the texture of His hair might look like.
Who God Is:
Though we in our limited thinking look at the outward appearance, there is much more to God than His looks. God is Love, and He Loves us all with an everlasting Love. God is Pure Light. God is Almighty. God is Powerful. God is our Living Water, so that we may never thirst. God is Teacher. God is Healer. God is a Miracle Worker. God is our High Priest. God is our Saviour. God is our Deliverer and so much more.
“I watched till thrones were [d]put in place,
And the Ancient of Days was seated;
His garment was white as snow,
And the hair of His head was like pure wool.
His throne was a fiery flame,
Its wheels a burning fire; Daniel 7:9
Ascended into Heaven
We can approach Him;
Jesus On Earth And In Heaven:
If you are of the Christian faith you just celebrated Christmas which is to take note of the birth of Jesus Christ. In a few months we will have Easter which is to take note of the death of Jesus Christ on the cross for all mankind and then He rose again.
Ascending Into Heaven:
After He rose from the grave He did spend some time on earth, and then others witnessed Him as He ascended…up, up, up, until He disappeared from sight. He went up into heaven…(yes, I know He through the Holy Spirit is in our hearts,) but He is now in heaven acting as our High Priest, this is what the below Scripture tells us.
Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:14-16 (NKJV)
Thanks for stopping by and reading. No matter what may be happening in your life today, God cares. He is a loving and a forgiving God, and He has wonderful things in store for all who choose to follow Him. May you be blessed this day and always.
