He’s
Requested people
Build Him sanctuary
To dwell among them

What God Requested Of His People:
There can be so much debate as to whether a place of worship is necessary or not, but here we have God Himself requesting that the people build a sanctuary so that He may dwell with them. He also told them exactly how to make the sanctuary. This is why a church, temple, synagogue, sanctuary or any house of worship is important, because we believe the presence of God to be there…but…we know that God and His Holy Spirit is everywhere, He fills the hearts of His believers and that is where true worship will begin.

A Sanctuary Below:
And let them make Me a sanctuary,[c]that I may dwell among them. 9 According to all that I show you, that is, the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furnishings, just so you shall make it. Exodus 25:8-9

A Sanctuary Above:
Though the word sanctuary is not mentioned, a throne room in heaven is mentioned. In the Old Testament instructions are given to the people, by God Himself as to how to build a sanctuary. Here in the New Testament we read about the “Throne Room,” and we immediately get the sense through John’s vision that it is a place of worship and heavenly beings are seen worshipping God.
Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. Revelation 4:2
Where I Go To When I Pray:
Though I can’t say I understand it all, this is where I like to spend a lot of my time in my mind…in my thinking. To me it’s a place of complete safety, a place filled with Light, a place where Jesus resides. When I’m fearful or in doubt, or asked to pray for someone, this is the place I love to come too. I see myself kneeling before God, who sits on the throne. A rainbow goes over the throne and much light also comes from the throne.
Many of us dream and hope for all kinds of earthly pleasures which will eventually disappear after a time. so why not hope and think about something that will last forever and ever!
When I think of going before the Lord, I think of a floor that looks like mirrored glass and light is coming from Jesus who is sitting on the right side of God. Even my words here can’t describe accurately how i picture it in my mind. Good post and good reminder of where Christ really resides.
Amen, yes, we can only describe it the only way we know, but how awesome it must be. There is so much beauty we have to look forward when we know the Lord. Yes, He is residing some place right now and will return to take us there with Him. Thanks for stopping by.
