Today’s Word: Confusion

Just recently my friend and I were in the countryside watching the Sandhill Cranes as they gathered for migration. They were feeding in a field and after a while some took to the sky. While I thought they would just fly away…they didn’t, but kept squawking and flying in circles in what seemed to be a disorganized or confused manner. I was told however that they were seeking the correct wind current to take them in the right direction.

As I look at what I thought to be confusion, it remind me of what we seem to be experiencing in our societies (as this is world-wide) with COVID19. There is so much confusion in what is the best way to medically handle this situation of COVID. However we too can find the right answers if we look for the solutions in the right places.

Sandhill Cranes seeking, patiently waiting and finding the right flight path

These few verses below reminds me of what our world is experiencing right now.

and the joyful music of their harps and drums has ceased.

There is no more happy singing over wine; no one enjoys its taste any more.

10 In the city everything is in chaos, (Confusion) and people lock themselves in their houses for safety.

11 People shout in the streets because there is no more wine. Happiness is gone forever; it has been banished from the land.

12 The city is in ruins, and its gates have been broken down.

13 This is what will happen in every nation all over the world. It will be like the end of harvest, when the olives have been beaten off every tree and the last grapes picked from the vines.

14 Those who survive will sing for joy. Those in the West will tell how great the Lord is, 15 and those in the East will praise him. Isaiah 24:8-15

I pray that we will seek for help in the right place, so that we will be one of those who will be able to sing for joy.

Despite all of the confusion we find in our everyday lives, Jesus remains the same. He is indeed our rock and our salvation.

Without God, the world has no true direction. Confusion abounds, because hearts are not willing to be led… by His love!
