Today’s Word: Heart

So many of us at this time are finding that our hearts, our minds are in turmoil. Wherever we turn our thoughts it is very unsettling. When thoughts are turned to finances worries arise. When our thoughts are turned to health, fears arise. As a result many of us look for ways to alleviate those fears. We may turn to meditation, nature or exercise, just to name a few. There is a text in the Bible that ask us to turn our thoughts to God, and there we will find rest.

Many of the things we do will find us temporary rest, but if we are looking for a long lasting place to lay our weary heads, we should turn our thoughts to Jesus.

Jesus Gives True Rest

25 At that time Jesus answered and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes. 26 Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. 27 All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am f]”>[f]gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:25-30

Wait on the Lord, be of good courage and He shall strengthen thine heart. Wait, I say on the Lord. Psalm 27:14

“So many of us at this time are finding that our hearts, our minds are in turmoil.” This is so true. My own has been going in that direction these days but God always reminds me of where I should be placing my thoughts. On Him and I do but I just need to more and I thank Him so much for His word! ❤

“Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours]. Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart]. The things which you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things [in daily life], and the God [who is the source] of peace and well-being will be with you.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6-9‬ ‭AMP‬‬
