Today’s photo takes me back to the summertime last year. It was a time with no travel restrictions, and we could travel from Province to Province and experience many more freedoms.
This beautiful body of water I’m viewing is the St Lawrence River. It’s pretty big and it comprises of canals and locks and rivers, and it is the connection between the Great Lakes and the Atlantic Ocean.
As I look out at this river, my thoughts wander to another river and I wonder what that was like. That river was the river that watered the garden of Eden. I imagine that Eden must of been a pretty big garden, one like we have never seen, and the river also pretty big. Apparently the river flowed out of Eden and then parted into four heads called, Pishon: which ran through a land filled with gold, bdellium and onyx stones. Gihon, Hiddekel and the Euphrates were the other three. (found in Genesis 2:11-14)
In the book of Revelation it also talks about a river, I’m not sure if its the same river, but I suppose that it will also be magnificent, as there will still be the Streets of Gold, and the Tree of Life, and a beautiful river flowing from God’s throne. A land of pure beauty is awaiting all who are faithful to God.
The River Of Life:
And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. 4 They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. 5 There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever. Revelation 22:1-5
[ Meditate on These Things ] Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8
