God At Creation:
When God created this world, He also gave us a day to rest. If we are to follow His example, we see that He created the heavens and all of the earth in six day…yes, He has the power to do it, and on the seventh day, He designated it as a rest day for us. He rested and Adam and Eve also did the same.
And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made. Genesis 2:2-3
God And The Commandments:
God gives Moses the commandments for mankind to follow, and this is how we will show our love for Him. In those commands He also mentions a day of rest dedicated unto Him.
“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. Exodus 20:8-11
The Crucifixion And The Sabbath:
Even during the time when Jesus was crucified, it was done in a way that the people could still observe the Sabbath.
Now when evening had come, because it was the Preparation Day, that is, the day before the Sabbath, 43 Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent council member, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, coming and taking courage, went in to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. 44 Pilate marveled that He was already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him if He had been dead for some time. 45 So when he found out from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph. 46 Then he bought fine linen, took Him down, and wrapped Him in the linen. And he laid Him in a tomb which had been hewn out of the rock, and rolled a stone against the door of the tomb. 47 And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses observed where He was laid. Mark 15:45-47
After observing the Sabbath, the two named Mary went to the tomb.
Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him. 2 Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. Mark 16:1-2
After Jesus Ascends To Heaven:
Even after Jesus ascended to heaven, the Sabbath which was created for all the world back in the Garden of Eden, was still being observed.
On the next Sabbath almost the whole city came together to hear the word of God. 45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy; and contradicting and blaspheming, they opposed the things spoken by Paul. 46 Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said, “It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first; but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles. 47 For so the Lord has commanded us: Acts 13:44-47
And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded both Jews and Greeks. Acts 18:4
Conclusion:
Though we should connect with God each and ever day in all that we say and do, it is good to take the day He instituted and worship and fellowship with Him, which is the Sabbath.

AMEN! Yes, this I learnt during a deeper study of the Sabbath. There is still a lot I must learn about it. God bless and may we continue to rest in Rest. ❤
