When Our Privileges Are Taken

Scroll down to content

I’m sure that right now with the crisis we are in, many minds are filled with scary thoughts. Our God knows our beginning from our ending, and He knew that we would go through days like these. This is why He told us we should fill our minds with beautiful things.

Meditate on These Things ] Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8

Like many out there, I can no longer walk the trails as I would like, and see the beautiful creatures. So now I’m more focus on seeing them in my night dreams, and we all know how dreams can take on a life of their own.

Dream:

I saw a flock of big white birds flying in the sky and then I saw others in the water as I walked along a hill looking over. I was so excited to see these beautiful creatures and even more excited because I didn’t need a birding lens to see these creatures up close.

One of the other creatures I saw in my dream was a snake and I was able to look at it with no fear. At first I was a bit hesitant but then I was told it could no longer do any harm. It had lost all its potency.

Snake Or Satan:

So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Revelations 12:9

In the bible we know that a snake represents our arch enemy satan. We also know that he is now extremely busy seeking to destroy many.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8

But a day is coming when this enemy that now kill and destroy will lose his potency for good.

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key of the abyss and a heavy chain. He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent—that is, the Devil, or Satan—and chained him up……. Revelation 20:1-2

Conclusion:

So for now as we see much death and destruction around us, and many are consumed with fear, this is a great time to turn our minds heavenward and to connect with God through prayer. This is the time ….(and we do have the time right now) to step out in faith and call out to our merciful God. He is listening and He hears our every cry. He is the only one that can bring lasting peace to our hearts and minds. Though we may not escape the pandemic, He will stay by our side through it all.

And God’s peace, which is far beyond human understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

  1. Sorry that you are restricted right now but God will give us back more than we can imagine if we keep the faith that you are displaying now. I started reading Job this morning, not because I picked it. It is the next book in my reading. I am gaining a whole new understanding of the lessons in Job by what is going on around us. Even your post is speaking to me as very Job. Praise the LORD for His will 🙂

    1. Amen… One day soon we will be united with our Jesus and the enemy that is satan and death will be gone forever.
They feel that if we all stay mainly indoors we can flatten the curve sooner than later. I am going outside now to get some fresh air and sunshine while doing chores around the house. I at least think that is permitted. ……Seems like many of us are living a Job experience right now.

      1. It is times like these I miss being at our home back in NC. There I have a huge yard, lots of space, and no one around for miles 🙂 Even with all that is going on now I could be outside to do things and exercise. Even if it is raining, I have a treadmill and pilates machine. Here I am restricted to these four walls. No yard because it is an apartment complex and there are people every where. Even if they shouldn’t be 🙂 I have been going out early, before anyone is out, and walking down the flight of stairs that leads to our apartment, then back up the stairs for at least 30 minutes trying to get fresh air and some blood flowing. The LORD has been bringing me a fury little friend who watches me hahaha 🙂 I have also been enjoying the patio, listening to the birds singing, and feeling the sun. It isn’t what we came here for, funny we came here and planned to never be here because we would be traveling hahaha 🙂 BUT I know that God has a much better plan in mind. He knows best. He always gives us more than we want. He even gives us things we didn’t even know we wanted 🙂 And by we, I mean ALL of us His beloved children. 🙂 So, I feel that Job although while he was going through the trials were not what he would have picked for himself BUT in the end God gave him more than he had, wanted, or could have ever imagined 🙂

      2. We were also getting up early and heading to different locations by the lake to watch the sunrise. I’m not even sure if we are allowed to do that now. We went early to avoid running into others as I do have chronic health issues, even though I’ve been doing pretty good. Some times I walk the stairs inside the house, and maybe have to continue doing that, so as not to run into others on the outside. I also have a small garden to work in, and now that it’s spring time it will make for getting a bit of sunshine and some exercise and fresh air.
So cute about your furry friend. We use to have a cat, Calypso was her name and she was a lot of fun, bringing us much joy.
It’s so true what you say about Job as he ended up much better than how he started, and regardless of what happens with this crisis, as long as we stay faithful to God, we too will eventually emerge from this darkness into God’s glorious Son Light.

      3. Yes we will because our Almighty God is faithful 🙂

That’s good you are still able to get out some by the lake. I thank the LORD to protect you, and thank Him for hearing and answering my prayer. Amen.

The miraculous thing about the furry little friend Leola, he(or she) is the exact twin to our beloved cat that passed away. And talkative too just like our little beloved was. I will try to get a picture of him(or her) on my next walk so you can see. I mean God really does the most special things for us. It is not a coincidence that the LORD sends a little companion that is identical to the one we miss so much 🙂 He is my avatar, and you will amazed at how identical they are.

      4. Thank you so much for your prayers Margaret, I really appreciate them. How is your sister…I hope she is healing nicely?
I look forward to seeing your little friend. Ours also passed away….wow….about 7 years now, but it seems like yesterday. She had quite the personality and would keep my hubby and I in line. She made us laugh so much, and she was really smart. So sad when they go. My husband never really want a cat, but he cried more than I did when she died.

      5. She has healed up nicely. Thank God. I keep meaning to post and let everyone know.

Yes those little blessings are so wonderful. Our little darling has been gone about 7 years now as well but you are right, it seems like yesterday. We still talk about him all the time. Completely understand about loving them so much. Hubby started having breathing issues after coming back from a deployment. After going to the doctor, then an allergy specialist they told him he was highly allergic to cats. His first response was, “we are NOT getting rid of HER cat” hahaha. I told him if he was going to die we would have to get rid of our little kitty. He refused. The doctor said heres some medicine, the cat can’t be in your bed or near your face. Funny when we got home I told our kitty he was going to kill daddy but daddy refused to get rid of him. I told him he couldn’t get in the bed, and no where near daddys face. Guess what, that cat NEVER got in the bed again, and never got near hubbys face. My son had taught him to “kiss” If you said kiss in any sentence he would run up and lower his head and push his head(the part between his ears) against your mouth. He would do this to me in the mornings at my desk, over and over until I made a “kiss” sound LOL Then he’d get in his window seat in front of my desk and look out the window. Yes, I guess as you can see I miss him. Sorry for such a long comment 🙂 Your little beloved and ours are certainly missed 🙂

      6. So glad to hear your sister is on the mend.

I also ended up in the ER once and that was the first question the Doctor asked….If we had an animal at home. When I slowly shook my head in the affirmative, he said, “I say no more.” Apparently a lot of people have pets, that they really shouldn’t. Our little kitty (well maybe not so little) knew how to hug and kiss. If we asked her for a hug she would come and rub her head against our cheeks, and if we asked for a kiss, she would come and touch our nose with her nose. She could be sweet like that and other times she would simply terrorize me, chasing me around the house, especially if I was late for her feeding times. 😀😀

      7. Hahaha that is so funny, are they not the funniest little things. If I called for my son ours would hide around the corner at the end of the hallway, and jump out at him when my son would run by. Even YEARS after my son moved out, we messed with him and call out our sons name. He’d take of running to that corner and wait. All crouched down, moving those back 2 legs raring to pounce. Hahaha 🙂 I got pictures today of the kitty that has been coming to see me during my walks. I will post them with some verses in the next few days 🙂

      8. 😁Your kitty sounds just like ours…but it was me she would pounce out of dark corners and chase. If she saw me with a snack in my hand, she knew I would be headed for the family room and my spot where I sit, so she would run ahead and jump into my spot. Then I would have to fight her to get my seat back. When we would have visitors over, if they barely walk beside her and brush her, she would let out loud MEOWS…like she was injured. Our guests would spend the rest of the time trying to tell us that they didn’t hurt her…We knew her tricks, so they really didn’t have to convince us.

    1. I know you take awesome care of your husband from reading your post, and this crisis could make it so much more difficult with your husband chronic illnesses. So many of us with underlying health issues will have to take extra care and stay mainly indoors.

    1. So very true. I all things, no matter the situation….I will remember to thank Him.
