I always wonder what it will be like when I reach my Eternal Home. Yes, I long to see Jesus and my loved ones, but because I love nature, I wonder what that aspect of it will be like.
As I was walking along the trail, I stopped to drop some bird seed to the right of me. When I looked back to the left, there stood a doe in the woods, ever so close to me and she was looking right at me.
I looked at her expecting for her to run, but instead of running, she came even closer. She nibbled at a couple of seeds I had dropped for the birds and then she retreated back to the woods where she stood, still gazing at me. After some people approached, she moved farther still into the woods. I also walked on.
As I walked further along the trail, I now thought it was time to turn back. This is when I saw the doe once again. She was in the woods, I called out to her and she came.
We spent some time there at the side of the trail, with her walking back and forth and nibbling in the grass. She modeled for me and allowed me to have a photo shoot. In the distance a bicycle was approaching and as it got closer, she eventually ran off into the woods.
I guess the man on the bicycle had seen our interactions and so he wanted to know if she was a friend of mine.
I felt blessed to have had this opportunity on such a beautiful winter day. It certainly did make my heart sing.
Then the lame shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of the dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in the desert. Isaiah 35:6

How precious are these moments when the Lord blesses us with encounters like this! Absolutely wonderful and I know you were excited inside!!!
I did feel blessed to have this beautiful creature spend some time with me, especially when it also saw fit to run when another human approached us…..a very exciting moment and one that I will always treasure.
The Lord did it just for you!!!
God is awesome…. I know others have had similar experiences but I do enjoy when God gifts me with these moments.
That’s a lovely moment, she decided to trust you a little 😊
She did, and we became friends…if only for a few minutes.
Wow! What an inspired moment. Leola you truly have a connection with nature and as a result God is using his handiwork to reassure you. As the doe so obediently responded to you, God is saying peace be still in all matters. We truly have nothing to fear because God has not given us the spirit of fear but of love, power and a sound mind. Just like the doe was unafraid as you approached her with gentleness and Love.
I do love nature on any day and in any weather, and just lately I think God is trying to teach me patience. I find when I’m out there I will now spend time standing quietly, observing and listening and not moving in a hurried manner.
Please continue with this series of finding my peace in Eden its truly a blessing. You have a real gem on your hands. Praise be!!!
😆😆Thank Ace. I’m sure God will give me other wonderful opportunities.
We never know when nature will surprise us. Leola, I appreciate your words, photos and video, and Scripture bringing this special encounter to us. I experienced a similar situation last summer with a doe along a park trail. Time seemed to stand still while the two of us looked at each other.
