Finding My Little “Peace” Of Eden #1

Scroll down to content

Any day spent in the woods is a good day, whether it is hot or whether it is cold.

On the coldest day we had this winter, at -20C = -4F, I found myself going into the woods on that frigid morning. You may find it hard to believe, but it was most exhilarating.

Before I got into the wood, I saw about 30 cardinals perched in a tree, and the woods was filled with many beautiful colors on what others may have found to be a very dreary day.

I saw the bright red of the male cardinals, with the striking blue of the blue jays, against the snowy white backdrop of the woods. I wish I could have captured on camera, what I saw with my eyes. It was wonderful to see them mix and mingle. I am thankful for the beauty Jesus allowed me to see, on what should have been a most uncomfortable day.

When reality set in, I returned to the car, and it was only then that I felt the cold. Tears almost came to my eyes as my fingers started to thaw, and also my face. But my heart was still filled with the joy and the beauty from my time spent in the woods on this very cold day.

I also realize that though I may find myself in what initially seems to be most uncomfortable situations, that God can and will still grant me His peace and give me His Comfort and His Joy.

    1. Thank you Margaret, the woods can be an enchanting place especially on the coldest of day. Its amazing to see how the animals (birds) will come together when they are in need of sustenance.
