Today’s Word: Freedom

The Year of the Lord’s Favor ] The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, Isaiah 61:1

So many of us think that to sever God is to be restricted in many way, when that can’t be further from the truth. When we believe in God and when we serve Him, this is where we will find true freedom.

“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your FREEDOM to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” Galatians‬ ‭5:13-16‬ ‭NIV‬‬
Freedom in Christ, freedom because of Christ. Freedom, is Jesus Christ!

“As servants of God, live as free people, yet do not use your freedom as a pretext for evil.” 1 Peter 2:16
In serving God, He allows us the freedom to make certain choices. None of these decisions should bring evil upon our neighbors.

Ace Emanuel:

But you must be careful so that your freedom does not cause others with a weaker conscience to stumble.
1 Corinthians 8:9 NLT

We are our brothers keeper and if we claim to have freedom in Christ then we are obligated to help our struggling brothers/ sisters

    1. Amen Richard…our God is such a loving God, and even when we make a mess of things as we all are known to do at times, He is so filled with compassion and willing to forgive. Thanks for taking part.

Freedom in Christ, freedom because of Christ. Freedom, is Jesus Christ! God bless my sister!

    1. Who knew there were so many amazing scriptures in relation to “freedom.” It also makes so much sense, because the bible also tells us that the greatest commandment of all is to love, so we can only love like Christ does….when we are totally free in Him. I feel as though a light bulb just came on. Something being reinforced!! 😀 As always, thanks for this Warren. Blessings.
