How I Know God Sometimes Relent

Relent: acquiesce, capitulate, ease off, give in, relax etc.

Though God blesses both the good and the evil, it is still way better to be doing good in the sight of God.

Our God The Healer And Restorer Of Life:

In those days Hezekiah was sick and near death. And Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, went to him and said to him, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die, and not live.’ ”

Then he turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to the Lord, saying, “Remember now, O Lord, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart, and have done what was good in Your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

And it happened, before Isaiah had gone out into the middle court, that the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “Return and tell Hezekiah the leader of My people, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord. 2 Kings 20:1-5

Spared From Disaster:

In the book of Jonah we can read of a story of Nineveh. It was a place so evil, that God was set to destroy it. However, the people changed from their wicked ways, and God relented. And because the people turned and acknowledge God, their lives were spared.

Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it. Jonah 3:10

God Builds Up Nations And God Also Tears Down Nations:

The instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, to pull down, and to destroy it, if that nation against whom I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring upon it. Jeremiah 18:7-8

Conclusion:

This is a continuation in my reading in regards to Nebuchadnezzar and his kingdom. But the God of the Old Testament is still the same God of the New Testament. He is All Powerful and His Name is worthy to be praised.

So whatever you may be facing today, whether it’s a health crisis, financial crisis, unbelief in God….once you turn and pour out your heart to God, He is still a God that is Mighty and able to save. He is still listening.

And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13
