1 Every Thursday I would give you something from the bible and you find a scripture to go with the word. If you want you can write a little bit on what the scripture means to you. Don’t forget to follow mycreatorscreation so you won’t miss out on this challenge.

Today’s Word: Eagle
….but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31
This is such an encouraging scripture for anyone that might be feeling tired and discouraged. When we get to know the Lord, when we put our trust in Him, He will continually strengthen and refresh us. He (God) will lift us up, and He will keep us going.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I pray that I will always keep trusting You, so that I may reap all the good things that You have in store for me.

“an angel gets its wings every time a eagles shadows touches you”
So for those of you who are faithful to take part in my Triumphant Thursday Challenge knows that it is always followed by a scripture, but today I make a special exception for Wayne, because if anyone knows about eagles…he does.
If you don’t follow his blog you should head on over there and check it out. Wayne knows his eagles and he has names for them, there is Ethel (I think,) Romeo, Juliet, and many more. He has awesome photos where he goes to different places around Tofino to visit them, and there is even a video where Wayne goes out to greet one of his eagle friend in a boat. He stands up in a boat and greets the eagle in the most gentle of tones. You can see the eagle respond by hovering over him, looking directly at him and fluttering…..simply an awesome sight to behold. (“an angel gets its wings every time a eagles shadows touches you”)
On my last visit to BC we visited the Fraser Valley and it was around the time that eagles were feeding on the salmon. On one of our outings we spent many hours with the eagles, and just as we were getting ready to leave, an eagle flew right up to us, pretty low, he turned his head to one side and was looking directly at us. It was a truly an exciting and exhilarating experience. At the same time I felt a little scared, but continued to take photos of it. It was close enough to see the magnificence of it and it’s wing span as it floated directly over us.
I shared this above experience in an earlier blog, and I remembered that Wayne had responded to my blog to let me know that there was nothing to fear, and that eagles will approach you in this way when they do not feel threatened. That made me feel pretty good about experience.
I took so many pictures when the eagle was hovering above us, but not one of them came out…perhaps due to my excitement and a lot of camera shake. However this encountered has been seared in my mind forever.
So since Wayne also knows about eagles, and has had similar experiences….though a scripture does not accompany his comment…who knows, perhaps he may have been impressed by the Holy Spirit to leave this comment. Check out his blog when you have the time, I’m sure you will enjoy it. I need to get back to his blog also….in the near future to see what is going on with the cameras he has set up for the bears. Thanks for stopping by. tofinophotography.wordpress.com

Thy terribleness hath deceived thee, and the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD. — Jeremiah 49:16

“Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the Eagle’s. The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. He made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel: The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.”
Psalms 103:1-8 NIV
Oh Lord, oh Lord. Help us to praise You, with our inmost love. Help us to praise You, from deep within our soul. Forgive our sins, heal our land. Uncover our blinded hearts, open up our eyes to see… You, and You alone. Help us all to know the truth, for hearts to truly soar; Your is what gives the soul wings! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
Amen…thank you Warren!!
You’re welcome!

I just discovered this one, and as a budget coach, I agree completely! Things won’t bring you happiness!
This is so true. Thanks for taking part Lisa.
Thy terribleness hath deceived thee, and the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD. — Jeremiah 49:16 I know this isn’t the most uplifting verse but it certainly is a great lesson 🙂
It may not be the most uplifting, but all the words of the bible are for a reason….that’s how I look at it. Through them we see the Mighty Power of God, and what He is capable of allowing when we are disobedient.
I knew you would understand 🙂 And as always you conveyed exactly what I was thinking 🙂
Yes, God is awesome and filled with Love, but we still need His strength to stay close and to be obedient to Him….we need to stay continually under His shadow, cloaked in His protection.

Exodus 19:4
“You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself.”
God shows over and over again throughout Exodus of how He has the backs of Israel covered. He is with His people at every turn on their journey. We can feel the same way about God today.
I am so glad you added this scripture. This was the one that I initially wanted to add… but didn’t. Then I thought to put it as a second one, and still I didn’t….but perhaps it was to be a part of this post, and here the Lord still got it in through you. Thanks bigskybuckeye.
