1   Every Thursday I would give you something from the bible and you find a scripture to go with the word. If you want you can write a little bit on what the scripture means to you. Don’t forget to follow  mycreatorscreation so you won’t miss out on this challenge.

Today’s Word: Temple (Sanctuary)

Old Testament: For the children of Israel and the children of Levi shall bring the offering of the grain, of the new wine and the oil, to the storerooms where the articles of the sanctuary are, where the priests who minister and the gatekeepers and the singers are; and we will not neglect the house of our God. Nehemiah 10:39

New Testament: Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man.

The first scripture in Nehemiah refers to a temple (sanctuary) which was built by human hands. The second scripture in the New Testament refers to another temple (sanctuary) this one is however in heaven and it has been made by the Lord Himself and not by man. This is where our Jesus now is— seated at the right hand of the throne.

And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and He shall grow up out of His place, and He shall build the temple of the LORD: — Zechariah 6:12

“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the Temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” Isaiah‬ ‭6:1-3‬ ‭NIV‬‬ Hallelujah!

And our bodies are the temple in which the Holy Spirit resides (1 Corinthians 6:19).

  2. Diana took the first one that came to my mind, I love that one because the thought of being the temple of the LORD makes me so happy 🙂 So I’ll use this one instead.

    1. Yes, I love Diana’s also, because it gives us such access to God, but I also love yours because I think even here in the Old Testament it’s eluding to a heavenly temple.
