However You are just in all that has befallen us;
For You have dealt faithfully,
But we have done wickedly. Neither our kings nor our princes,
Our priests nor our fathers,
Have kept Your law,
Nor heeded Your commandments and Your testimonies,
With which You testified against them. Nehemiah 9:33-34

Even though we may not want to admit it, we do know when we are engaged in doing wrong. We may deny it for a long time, but we cannot proceed forward until we stop and acknowledge our wrong before God. He knows any way.

Many of us may feel that God deals unfairly with us, but at least in the instance above, the Israelites knew that they had done wrong, and yet God dealt justly with them. This is in the Old Testament, but we are still required to walk in a certain way as Children of God.

I believe that we are all wired in such a way that we should instinctively know what is right and pleasing to God. The problem arises when we know what is right, but yet we don’t want to do it. God has made it easier for all of us, by putting His laws into our hearts and our minds. It’s now left up to us to do what we know to be right.

“This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” Hebrews 8:10

  1. I agree with you 100%. We do know when something is not right because our hearts and mind are not at peace when do the wrong things. The Spirit of God always convicts us when we are not in line with the Word of God. Thank you for this great post.
