1 Every Thursday I would give you something from the bible and you find a scripture to go with the word. If you want you can write a little bit on what the scripture means to you. Don’t forget to follow mycreatorscreation so you won’t miss out on this challenge.

Today’s Word: Cry
My son, if you receive my words,
And treasure my commands within you,
2 So that you incline your ear to wisdom,
And apply your heart to understanding;
3 Yes, if you cry out for discernment,
And lift up your voice for understanding,
4 If you seek her as silver,
And search for her as for hidden treasures;
5 Then you will understand the fear of the Lord,
And find the knowledge of God.
6 For the Lord gives wisdom; Proverbs 2:1-6
The word “cry” or “cry out” is mentioned so many times in the Bible, that is was hard to j pick one verse. What I found in reading a couple of them is that depending on the situation, God may respond differently to our cries.
What I gather from the above scriptures, is that God wants us to cry out to Him in asking for the right things. He wants for us to follow His Words and to treasure them in our hearts. When we follow God closely, He will fill our minds with His knowledge and His wisdom.
When God Remained Silent:
God does not always answer us in the way we may wish, but He will answer us in His good and perfect time. In the below scriptures, David is crying out to God, but God remains silent.
Many times we too cry out to God and He remains silent. After a while many may turn their backs on God and stop believing altogether. David however, kept crying day and night while God remained silent. He however did not give up.
Even though it seemed as though God was not listening, David continued to cry out to Him. If we did this also, this is where our break through would come. I can say this, because I know this for myself.
Don’t give up, don’t give in, but as you keep crying, also keep praising God. And we know He eventually came through for David, bringing him an abundance of peace, for the very next Psalm is Psalm 23. The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want…..
My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?
Why are You so far from helping Me,
And from the words of My groaning?
2 O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear;
And in the night season, and am not silent.
3 But You are holy,
Enthroned in the praises of Israel.
4 Our fathers trusted in You;
They trusted, and You delivered them.
5 They cried to You, and were delivered;
They trusted in You, and were not ashamed.
In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and He did hear my voice out of His temple, and my cry did enter into His ears. 2 Samuel 22:7
