Why It’s Good To Be Persistent

When it seems that God is silent

When it seems He may not care

Hold tight to the hem of His garment

Hold tight and don’t let go.

Allow yourself to be dragged by Him

Better to be dragged by Him than any other

He will eventually give His full attention.

A Woman Healed:

And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. 21 For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.” 22 But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.”Matthew 9:20-22

For anyone who feels they may be praying to God, but He does not seem to be listening, keep holding on and don’t let go.

Many of the bible stories and verses I love and it is very hard to pick just one. But one over the many years have stood out to me—-so much so, that I picture myself secretly reaching out to touch the hem of His garment. I did this feeling that He may have been too busy to give me His attention, but after a while He notice me and gives me His full attention.

This is how Jesus is with each and everyone of us, when we are persistent in seeking after Him. When we keep pressing on and not letting go.

Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8

And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

The above scripture is very telling. It actually tells us why many of our prayers could be going unanswered. Could it be because we are not searching for God with all our hearts??

This tells me that my relationship with God has to be continual and not for only a moment.

May this be of some encouragement to someone today.

  1. Leola, Nice reminder that we can also like that lady, reach out in faith to God. I need you to present at an upcoming prayer meeting. RJ

    1. Thank you Richard….😃😃Talk about taking me out of my comfort zone. As problematic as the internet might be, I feel more comfortable here than standing before a group of people.

  2. Sometimes God lovingly watches us during a test rather than intervene right away…He is always there, but He may allow us times of uncertainty so that we do, in fact, search for Him with all our hearts ❤

    1. Yes, very true what you say, but many also use Him like a magician only when in desperate need. He is so loving and filled with compassion that regardless, He is there for us. When we live close to Him, we will recognize His many blessings more readily.

      1. You’re absolutely right on that one, God isn’t our personal genie, but some do treat him like that. It’s a real relationship that needs to be given time and effort!
