How I Know The Harvest IS Fast Approaching

Summer is screaming

She begs; a little longer

Autumn replies, NO

Ok, so I couldn’t help but write a little bit here as I read this passage. Usually in a true Haiku there is no need for explanation. You read and take what you get from it—or so I think.

Even though the poem is about the approaching autumn and the harvest that comes with it, I couldn’t help but thinking about another harvest that is fast approaching. It’s the harvest that Jesus speaks about in the below passage.

The people Jesus sees are tired and worn out. Their lives are disorganize and they seem to be all alone and on their own fending for themselves.

It’s like exactly what is happening in our world today. In many of the cases the people lives are in disarray because they do not know that they are in need of a Savior. Jesus Christ Himself.

The Compassion of Jesus

35 Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:35-38
