The following photos were taken at Fort Henry. This Fort was built sometime after the war of 1812 between the British and the Americans.
In the photo below you can see canon balls sitting nearby to the canon. This shows the preparedness of the British. They didn’t wait till they ran out of canon balls to go looking for them. They had the balls near at hand and was ready for any attack that might come from the enemy.
Countries usually have armies, that will go and fight to protect us . They go to battle fully armed to wage war against the enemy.
The Armor Of Christians:
As followers of God, God wants us too to be always armed and ready, so that we will be able to stave off any attacks from the enemy. We know that the enemy is very powerful, and while we are grateful for the soldiers that fight to protect the country, we are even more grateful to God for His power in fighting our battles.
We too have our part to play when we know how to arm ourselves.
The weapon we will used must be the Word of God, as it is Him who will fight our battle. If you are not a Christian, this outlook might seem pretty weak and pitiful, but when you are a Christian steeped in faith, you know and sense the power of the Holy Spirit, as He constantly protects you from the enemy.
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— Ephesians 6:14-18
Visualization For The Christian:
Many use the idea of visualization–but without God in it. They use this to accomplish earthly goods, but they will go much further when God is it.
As Christians we are told to fill our minds with all that is beautiful and all that is good and lovely. The above scriptures when used in this visual way can be very powerful.
Imagine having a breastplate around you and that breastplate is filled with righteousness. As a result of this, because you are filled with righteousness, which can only come from know God and His Word, you are only capable of doing good. You will be fair and honest in all your dealings with others. This is how we are to see ourselves when we are visualizing having the armor of God on.
We are to also visualize giving all our troubles to God and to believe that He will protect us from all evil that surrounds us. We must never give up the hope, but must always believe that God will remove whatever mountain may be standing in our way.
Pray Without Ceasing:
How many of us are in a continual state of prayer—probably not too many. Most of us don’t even remember God until we have some great need. Only when situations like these arise will some of us turn to God. God is so gracious and merciful that He may answer our prayers, but we get angry when it seems like God is no where to be found.
God is available to each and everyone of us at any given time. We should in our mind believe that He is standing right beside us. He is hearing every word we speak, whether good or evil. He is looking at the deeds we do whether good or bad. And we should allow Him to change us for the better.
God and His Holy spirit is the only one that can fully prepare us and outfit us with the armor, so that we can fight every battle we may have to face.
When we are fully armed with God’s Word, and have faith and believe, with that same faith, we will see Him deflect the darts of the enemy as they are thrown at us.

Thank you so much Ryan!!
Thank you for this sharing this wonderful news of hope in Jesus. The only protection we have against the adversary, the devil, is by putting on the full armour of God. We must be ready!! The devil is like a roaring lion seeking to devour us at a moments notice.
So very true. I pray that we will always be ready and know from where we can get a Helper to fight him.
