Challenge: Triumphant Thursday: Street

Scroll down to content

1   Every Thursday I would give you something from the bible and you find a scripture to go with the word. If you want you can write a little bit on what the scripture means to you. Don’t forget to follow  mycreatorscreation so you won’t miss out on this challenge.

For all the rules check: Triumphant Thursday

Today’s Word: Street

In my last few posts I have been writing and showing pictures of my recent trip to Montreal and to Quebec City. I praise God for that opportunity. I do have family who resides in Montreal, and it is because of them that this trip was possible.

It was truly an awesome experience to walk the cobblestone streets, feasting my eyes on the beauty that surrounded me. Here I did not have to worry about being run over by vehicles, as this was a vehicle free zone. My only concern was bumping into other pedestrians.

As beautiful as this street was—I cannot help but to think of another street. Another street that will be so awesome that I cannot even truly imagine what it will be like.

The Bible tells us, that for all of God’s children who believe and follow Him, we will one day walk on a street that is paved with pure gold. How awesome that will be. We will no longer be trying to cheat and rob each other for gold. It will be something to plant our feet on.

In the middle of this street will be the tree of life. This is the place where I hope to see one day. A street pave with gold, a tree that I will continually eat from and live, and a river that I will continually drink of it’s water and live.

This is no fairy tale. This is the reality for all those who by faith believe.

It is also so much better for our minds when we fill them with such beautiful thoughts as these. As we know and hear everyday, the news is filled with people committing much evil, because they operate from minds filled with darkness.

For now, we have much man-made beauty around us, and even that has come straight from God. God is the giver of the inspiration. He inspires minds on how to create wonderful things.  God made us all good and He gave us minds of love and goodness.

Sin has marred our minds, but it is a battle we can win when we choose to turn and walk in another direction. Take another street and turn away from the dark alley we may be headed for.

As much as I enjoyed the streets of Quebec City—{and I really did enjoy them,]I am looking forward to an even more magnificent city with the most beautiful of streets.

The twelve gates were twelve pearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.  Revelation 21:21

In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Revelation 22:2

“The Lord told him, “Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying. In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight.””
‭‭Acts‬ ‭9:11-12‬ ‭NIV‬‬
On a road Saul came face to face Jesus. Saul thought he could see, only to realize he was blind… to the truth. But, God is faithful. Paul’s heart received sight, so God could let his soul see… the Streets of gold!

    1. Awesome—I love how you twisted and turned your words, and then ending up on the Streets of Gold.

  2. Leola. I just love the comparison and contrast of the streets of gold with the cobble stone streets of Quebec. God has truly given you insight on how to enjoy life to its fullest while taking time to admire nature and all it offers. This life affords the natural and carnal desires of our heart but the heavenly kingdom offers life eternal .

    1. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment Ace, and a big “Amen” to eternal life and eternally living.
