  1. There might be different answers to your question. However, one of them I think is that we/I often go to look for something, but my mind is far away. Sometimes it might be that we have our own perspective on what something should look like, and with that in mind we miss out the things/details that are in front of us.
    You mentioned Mark 8:18
    I think we often have not the same mind as God. Having the mind of Christ with in us will help us see the things the way God sees them. Just before verse 18 Jesus asked the disciples “Are your hearts hardened?” ESV

    1. You are right in saying, ” Sometimes it might be that we have our own perspective on what something should look like, and with that in mind we miss out the things/details that are in front of us.” With our limited thinking we think we know so much, instead of relying on our God to guide us.
