What Happens When We Seek

Scroll down to content

Are you one of those people who feel that God is far away? Do you feel like its a waste of time to pray–like He’s not even listening to you? Do you have doubts as to whether God really does exist, and that perhaps the Bible is really outdated?

I too at one time in my life felt like God was sooooooo far away. I would pray to Him and then go about my business until I was in need of Him the next time. I was very casual in my approach to God. It wasn’t till I started seeking Him through His Scriptures that I began to really get a sense of who He was and what He expected of me. His word explains right from wrong and it tells us what is expected of us.

God is not far away like I thought. He is right here and willing to reveal Himself to any who will seek Him. We must look for Him like we would hidden treasure, looking, looking and not giving up. When we constantly seek to connect with God, when we constantly cry out to Him, when we don’t let up, when we ask Him to carry us, to come live with us, He will reveal Himself to us. Jeremiah 29:13

Most of us know Jeremiah 29:11 and we want to cling to that promise, and many of us become disappointed and blame God when Jeremiah 29:11 does not seem to apply to us. We selfishly want to claim Jeremiah 29:11, but God also wants us to also claim Jeremiah 29:13.

I believe that when we accept and claim Jeremiah 29:13 only then will we more fully receive Jeremiah 29:11. This is what I have personally found to be true.

If you don’t know what these Scriptures are, it may be worth your while to go and check them out, it may just be what is missing from your life. Why am I not putting the Scriptures here? Because it may be a good place to start seeking.

  1. A passage that one is my meditation in the wee hours of the morning said this, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him…Hebrews 11:6

  2. This is such a beautiful truth and lesson Leola 🙂 If we look for God we will find Him. He wants us to find Him. He isn’t playing hide and seek with us. I feel most of the time it is us who is playing this game while God patiently waits for us. Praise the LORD 🙂

    1. Yes, we really can cause a lot of pain to ourselves and others because we refuse to seek God. He is so very patient. I pray that others will see what a Treasure He really is, and seek to find Him.

    1. So glad you found it enjoyable. 🤔 I haven’t forgotten your blog and will stop by sometime.
