Challenge: Triumphant Thursday: Blessings

Scroll down to content

1   Every Thursday I would give you something from the bible and you find a scripture to go with the word. If you want you can write a little bit on what the scripture means to you. Don’t forget to follow  mycreatorscreation so you won’t miss out on this challenge.

Today’s Word: Blessed

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered. Psalm 32:1

It’s a joy when we can live knowing that our sins are forgiven. We do not have to answer to man, only to our God who has the power to forgive us. When we know that we are forgiven it tends to give us a sense of freedom. We will no longer be weighted down by the cares and the worries that comes from living with guilt and shame.

If you are feeling weighted down on this day, give it to Jehovah, He is a very loving and merciful God and He is very willing to forgive. It is quite easily done, in the comfort of your own homes you can go before God in prayer and ask Him for forgiveness, you could be in a car, on the job. Only God knows what’s on your mind—on your heart.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:

1 Corinthians 10:16
The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a sharing in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a sharing in the body of Christ?
Paul’s words remind me of the Last Supper as well as the Sacrament of Holy Communion.

“The blessing of the LORD brings [true] riches, And He adds no sorrow to it [for it comes as a blessing from God].”
‭‭PROVERBS‬ ‭10:22‬ ‭AMP‬‬
This scripture says it all. Nothing miss, nothing broken; every blessing from our Father God. His Joy, His peace, His love; His Grace, true blessings indeed! Glory, Hallelujah!

And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God. — Deuteronomy 28:2. Praise God!

Psalm 103 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquites; who healeth all thy diseases.
A few years back I started to ask myself what exactly does it mean to bless or be blessed. So I looked up the meaning. To bestow a gift or happiness upon someone is the definition that spoke the most to me. May God bless us with His gift of forgiveness, grace and favor which brings happiness into our lives.
But what about blessing the Lord? He has everything, doesn’t He? My answer is when we praise Him and worship Him we are bestowing our gift of happiness upon Him. The word says he inhabits the praises of His people.

    1. Thanks so much Amy for taking part and for your awesome comment. Even though I chose the word and the Scripture to go with it, I was thinking I chose the word “blessed” but yet here I was writing a bit on forgiveness–then I realized, yes, forgiveness is a blessing and it’s ours for the asking, yet so many of us refuse to ask for our blessings.
I also agree with you that when we praise and worship God, when we pour out our hearts to Him, that is when we are blessing Him and that is when He will reveal Himself to us. Jeremiah 29:13

    1. Hi Margret, so great to have you, and as I read this Scripture it is so clear. It tells us we will be blessed if we listen to the Lord. Yet we want His blessings without having anything to do with Him. Well I want His blessings so I shall continue to listen. I know I would be worse off without Him in my life. Thanks again and Blessings to you!!

      1. Yes I agree, and the LORD says it in such a few, easy to understand Words for the simple folks like me 🙂 I love the extra image He gives us with this part, “…and overtake thee,…” Wow, to be overtaken with blessings Hallelujah!

      2. Yes I know–can you imagine how wonderful we all could be doing. So yes, I know we are saved by His grace, but there are certain things He has set out for us to do. We need to make it our aim to really listen to His voice—read His Holy Word so we may be able to follow Him as closely as possible. We are Co-workers with Him, He is doing His part and if only we would fully do ours life could be much more fulfilling.

    1. Thanks for taking part once again Warren–Yes, the Scripture does say it all. If only we would put our stubborn ways behind, we would be “richly” blessed.
