Fruits From The Trees:
And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. Genesis 1:29
When God created man He told man that he had given to him any herb that had seeds, and God gave also to man to eat of any fruit trees which had seeds. For some reason it was important for the fruits to have seeds, yet today some want to make things easier for us and have fruits without seeds, which is more than likely not the best choice.
Fruits are filled with many nutrients which are needed to keep our bodies in good physical health. They have many vitamins which can produce us with energy, and they more than likely have everything needed to keep us in the best of health, as that was the only food along with the herbs, that were initially given by God.
I would imagine that if fruit was to be our main food, then we would be eating fruits for breakfast, lunch and supper. Perhaps there would have been different fruits for each meal of course. And perhaps we might have eaten and enjoyed every part of the fruit, including the skin and the seed. Maybe most of the healing properties might have been in eating the seeds and the skin–only God knows, and maybe the many diseases we now see stem from not having a healthy dose of the foods that God initially supplied, and further more, many are now damaged by pesticides, so that we can no longer eat the skin on many of the fruits, even if we wanted to.
Fruit Of The Spirit:
Along with eating healthy doses of fruits to nourish our physical bodies, God also wants us to eat of the fruit of the Spirit and nourish our minds. Imagine showing love to all around, letting it flow from within us, that in itself must have many healing properties for our minds. Then having a joyous spirit added on to our loving ways, there is no room for feelings of sadness and negativity.
If we were constantly exhibiting kindness and self-control there would be no room for anger and hatred. No anxiousness would be found. What a different world this would be.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22
Conclusion:
The same way we have manipulated and rejected the abundance of fruits that God initially gave to us for the healing of our bodies, we have also rejected the abundance of love, joy, self-control, kindness, peace, faithfulness and gentleness. These were the characteristics that God initially planted within us to give us a sound and peaceful mind. As a sad result, many of us hold dear to anger, we mistake gentleness for weakness, faithfulness for stupidity, love for hate, and many feel empowered by these negative characteristics, and then seek to find complex remedies to heal body and mind.
I believe that God’s plan for man was quite simple. He made man and placed him in a garden with fruit and fresh air, and there he would have tended the animals, and that interaction with the animals would also have brought him joy, but evil crept in, now we have to fight our way out of a host of negativeness.
Here’s the word the Lord has given me whenever He reveals those areas in our lives where we have drifted away from His original purpose and intent…TAMPERING! As a result of this, I truly believe that we, as a whole, forgo our ability to receive the essential health benefits from the food God has given us!
More so than the physical food, we seem to have lost and each day losing more of the capacity for taking in the Spiritual Food.
Truly! Spiritual food serves as the foundation for EVERYTHING else!
Well-written! I enjoyed the use of fruit as a nutritional way to eat, but also the spiritual fruit that comes from God.
Thank you for reading–😃trying to be also creative in my thinking.
God has blessed us with fruit for a healthy heart, but also fruits of the spirit for our soul. Nothing missing, nothing broken! Well said!
