So this Saturday evening a few of us from our church will be performing in a play called “Dead Man Walking,” which was written by my hubby, and the painting was done by Richard Jules, he is quite the artist, and he is the man you see in the slide show below. He will be playing Caiaphas. More of his work can be seen here: fineartamerica.com
Betrayal:
The part which the play is focused on is the plotting to betray Jesus and the betrayal itself, and then the trial.
People In The Crowd:
This is just a few of the cast members in our play. I’m wearing the blue head scarf, with the brown tie to keep it in place. Even though I’m so busy with my blog I didn’t want to be left out of the play, so I do have about two or three lines. 😃 The group photo is of the people. So we will be the people in the crowd doing all the yelling to free Barabbas and to crucify Jesus.
Graves Open:
I’m sure glad that I wasn’t alive back then, because that could very well had been me, laughing and mocking Jesus. Perhaps if I did have to be born in that era, it would have been better to already be born and died, because we know that some of the graves were opened up, and many people who were in the graves were resurrected.
Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, 52 and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; 53 and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many. Matthew 27:51-53
Full Circle:
It seems to me as though we are going full circle. Even though there is so much in the Scriptures for us to learn from, many are still not willing to listen to the warnings, that they need to get under the covering of Jehovah. It’s only when things started happening in the atmosphere, only when the earth started shaking, that those who were guarding Jesus became afraid. It is only then that they truly recognized who Jesus was.
We have this time right now to prepare ourselves, but many prefer to chase after things of the world, and they are quite happy to live for the fleeting moment they have on this earth, instead of looking forward to a life spent in eternity with Jesus.
So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!”Matthew 27:54
He is Alive and He Lives.
Sounds like its gonna be a great production.
Very low budget, but I think we get the point across.
His Word will not return void.
Very true!!
Well done Leola…
Thanks Jerry.🙏🏽🙏🏽🌼🌺🌸
The here and now, to prepare ourselves; to learn how to breathe in His Amazing love! Blessings!
