Negativity
Once upon a time this world that we live in was nothing but perfection. Man was created by God and we were supernaturally connected to Him in the most awesome way. Because of sin a vast gulf emerged between man and God, and what this gulf or rift created was a vast amount of negative emotions within us, leaving us feeling fearful, guilty, sad and hopeless, just to name a few. All is not lost however, for as soon as Jesus came and walked this earth and died for mankind, He has given us a chance to regain what was lost. However as time goes on more and more people either move further away from God, or they absolutely want nothing to do with Him.
Surrender
All of us have sin, and by doing so we have turned our backs on God and have also shorten our lives because of it, however all is not lost. When we make the decision to turn our backs on sin and walk in the direction of God, we are making a stand to walk in the right direction, and that direction takes us along the path with leads to eternal living. This path is not an easy path that we can undertake in our own strength. We will have to invite Jesus Christ into our hearts and through His Holy Spirit, it is He who will lead us in the right direction. He will lead us in the path of righteousness.
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20
A New Birth
If you are a Christian you know what it means to be Born Again, and you’re not like Nicodemus who asked God;
“How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” John 3:4
Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. John 3:5
When we allow these things that Jesus recommended to happen, which is; to be born of water and the Spirit, we are now united with Christ, and we have completely left our old lives behind to start afresh with Christ. It’s only by the grace of God that we can do this, as this is too daunting a task for us to undertake ourselves.
Self-Help
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
I know many of us try to do things to help ourselves, but we will accomplish way more when we are united with God and have access to His Holy Spirit at work within us. On our own we can do nothing. I know that many believe in self-help books, and I even myself when I wasn’t walking with the Lord tried some of those books. So I know they can only take you so far, while the power we have access to will take us the distance. We no longer have to repeat things over and over in our minds with the hopes of gaining power. The Holy Spirit will open up our minds and our hearts as to what we need to do. Allow Him to be your Guide instead of fighting the battle on your own.
Our Hearts
When we undergo this transformation and allow Jesus to enter our hearts, we will automatically live out the fruit of the Spirit in our lives, and we are also now known as His adopted heirs. The fruit of the Spirit is:
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. Romans 8:14-17
Family
As the above scripture states we have been adopted, and so you are an adopted son or daughter of God, through Jesus Christ and so am I. Because of this adoption, we are entitled to certain privileges. We “should” never have to feel lonely, and depressed. We should not be fearful and insecure. At times like these we need to call on God, and believe by faith that He will see us through.
Power
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. Revelation 3:20
Real power can be found when we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. With that power, He will totally transform our lives making us new creatures as we walk with Him. It doesn’t matter what we have done in the past, God is willing to forgive you, to forgive me. So if you are feeling guilty right now for some secret sin, God know and sees it any ways, so just give it to Him and He will freely take it and relieve you of your burden from guilt. It’s the enemy who wants to way us down, don’t let him steal your joy or your power any longer. Give all your guiltiness to God and receive His power to walk with confidence. By doing this you make it more difficult for the enemy to get to you. Will the walk with God be an easy one? No it won’t—not all the time, not most of the time, but we will walk with hope because we know what direction we’re walking in. We are taking the pathway to eternal living.

Leola, I appreciated spending time with your words and God’s word. Its is so true that we can find grace-filled power through our Lord and Savior Jesus. Ephesians 2:8-9 is one of my favorite taste of scripture. I feel humbled when I kneel in front of the Father.
Thank you for your kind words, and yes, that is such a wonderful scripture to remember. It does make one feel humbled and grounded.
Well written Leola …a good read
Thanks so much for reading!!
He does totally transform us and we are proof. We love the fact He isn’t done yet with us.
That’s the fantastic part of it, that He will always be there for us.
