Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and depart from evil.
It will be health to your flesh,
And strength to your bones. Proverbs 3:7-8
So often we think that we know best what is right for us, and chances are we are not open to taking advice. In the above scripture the verse tell us not to be wise in our own eyes. Further more it tells us to fear the Lord. The word fear here means to show respect for God, to revere Him, to honor and respect Him, because He is Almighty.
Many of us usually rise hurriedly and go right into the day. Our schedules are so busy, leaving us hardly any time to think. Today take some time to put God first, after all it’s because of Him that we live to see another day. Lift Him up in prayer, and give Him thanks. When we put God first in this way, He is more likely to wash His peace over us, and as the scripture says, it will be health to our flesh and strength to our bones. Does this mean that all of a sudden all of our ailments are cured; absolutely not. But it’s a much better way to live with God at the head of our day. Spiritual health should always come before physical health. It may not seem logical, but remember its still best to walk by faith. With God at the helm our physical health will be in good hands.
