Stuck in a dark box
Seeing no way out
Making circles
Circling, circling
Head turned downwards
With others I’m stuck
And see no way out.
Stuck in a dark box
Seeing no way out
Circling, circling
Head turned downwards
We speak of possibilities
Yet none are ever seen.
Day after day
This suffocating darkness
This is our plight
Head turned downwards
Why is there no light?
One day I heard it;
The unmistakable flutter of a dove
With much pain I turned my head upward
I heard a Voice whisper
He whispered the word Love.
Gone unnoticed
In this box dark as night
When I dared to look upwards
I saw a speck of light.
Head now turned upward
Climbing towards that speck of light
I want to escape
I need to escape
This box that’s dark as night.
Reaching, reaching
Clawing upwards
Making my way towards that Light
Reaching, digging
With eyes now open
Finally getting my real sight.
Sometimes though our eyes are wide open we cannot see what is right before us. We are so filled with dark thoughts, hate or anger and we refuse to embrace the good seeds that resides within all of us. If we dare to embrace these good seeds, our souls would be flooded with Light.
The Lord opens the eyes of the blind; The Lord raises those who are bowed down; Psalm 146:8
We grope for the wall like the blind, And we grope as if we had no eyes; We stumble at noonday as at twilight; We are as dead men in desolate places. Isaiah 59:10
For You will light my lamp; The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. Psalm 18: 28
Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. Psalm 112:4
Then I saw that wisdom excels folly as light excels darkness. Ecclesiastes 2:13
