He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,

Out of the miry clay,

And set my feet upon a rock,

And established my steps.

Psalm 40:2

This is a Psalm about David when he was going through a horrible time in his life. He cried out to the Lord, and he kept waiting and waiting on the Lord, he didn’t give up like many of us do. David waited until the Lord turned and acknowledged him. When the Lord looked upon His child (David,) no longer was he sad and depressed, but instead he was now joyous and happy.

I pray that in this New Year of 2019 that whenever we are feeling sad and depress, angry, or whatever negative emotions we may be feeling, that we will remember to cry out to God, and not only should we all cry out to God, but that we would remember to wait on Him to answer us, and to direct us in what we should do.

  1. This is true we tend to forget to cry out to God and wallow in darkness…he is always a present help but our faith is usually weak

    1. Yes, I know exactly what you mean, that’s why perhaps we need to look upward to God more often. I believe when we do that, He will be first on our list when things go wrong. Yes, God will help us in-spite of our weak faith, and the beauty of that is….that God understands our weakness. One thing I have come to realize that God’s Hand is always extended toward us, we just need to do our part….reach up, and take the Hand that He is offering. It may not be easy at first, but once we make that first step it becomes easier and easier. Thanks for stopping by Alpha7ization…blessings!!

  2. I agree with your post, however, the reality is that sometimes waiting on God is not easy . Especially since God does things HIS way and in his time.

However, it’s still in our best interest to wait until we get a clear answer from Him.

    1. Totally agree with you Andria. That’s why I titled it “Hang Tough.” As a matter of fact we really don’t know how long David may have been waiting. I could have been a very long time, but God did come through for Him.
