When I was diagnosed with Lupus and later Vasculitis I experienced much fatigue and excruciating pain, this would consume my thinking. I couldn’t find anything to help and no medication seemed to soothe. Finally, prednisone would bring some relief, but by this time I had also been worn down emotionally.
Some time passed, I had started back to church as a suggestion from a family member, looking for physical healing (a bit selfish on my part,) but nothing was forth coming and I became very disappointed and even more depressed. So, this is when I started reading the bible in earnest, putting God to the test. I simply decided I would follow His commands, and see if what I was reading was true.
I turned my focus off myself and on to God, and even though things didn’t change right away, He gave me enough strength to look at my situation differently.
One thing I have found, is that if we want to be physically and emotionally healed, we first must work on our Spiritual Healing. We must surrender to God, giving Him all our negative emotions, confessing to Him and asking for His forgiveness. These things alone are enough to free our minds and lift our spirits as God is so gracious and willing to forgive us.
As I continue to stay under God’s protection, I am learning when to go forward and when to slow down. Our bodies are also the House of God’s Holy Temple, so I now try to treat my body as such, by the foods I choose to take in.
So, I continue to seek total healing, especially in the physical, as I stay under God’s protection looking to be Spiritually connected to Him and trying to maintain my relationship with Him.
