I learned something new this morning. Today my devotion reflected on the life of St. Patrick. I always heard of the Luck of the Irish but did not know the story behind it.
Apparently Patrick had a very poor beginning to his life, but later in life he was able to over come all that, and he became a missionary.
Patrick grew up to be a man of God. When he was experiencing terrible times he prayed 100 times a day, so obviously he had great faith in God.
It is said that Patrick’s Prayer was: “Christ with me, Christ before me, Christs behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise, Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of every one who speaks of me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me. I arise today through a mighty strength.” (From the Devotional) We Shall Be Changed (Christy K. Robinson…..Editor)
So obviously Christ honored Patrick for the great faith that he had, but many people may have seen it as mere luck…..but Patrick knew where his strength and his blessings were coming from.
Amen to that! We should never underestimate the power of prayer.thank you for sharing this.
