Rejected By God
Some of you have been inquiring of me in regards to my “Daily Potion.” I am so sorry, but I have been so busy, but as I think about it, I should never let my business come before God’s Business.
I’ve been doing a read through of the bible and today I read 1 Samuel 15 where Saul has been anointed King over the children of Israel. Samuel went to Saul and told him what God wanted him (Saul) to do. Saul went forward and did most of what God had asked of him. He did what he thought was best in his eyes by sparing the king’s life and by sparing the cattle that was healthy. God was not pleased with only the “Partial Obedience” by Saul, and as a result, He rejected him as the King of Israel.
God has also requested that we follow His ten commandments, not one commandment, not two commandments, but all ten. When we neglect to do as God says we are also in danger of Him also rejecting us.
Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices
as much as in obeying the Lord?
To obey is better than sacrifice, 1 Samuel 15:22
I love, love, love that verse…to OBEY is better than anything. That’s all GOD asks of us…why do we make it so difficult? It’s easy to blame it on our humanity, but GOD also allows us to make our own choices. When we receive JESUS as our SAVIOR, than we should have the mind of CHRIST, which would lead us to making decisions based on what GOD wants, not what we think will be best for us. GOD doesn’t ever ask anything that is “un-doable” I just have to remember that, not let my human side get in the way, not let my human side be afraid, and JUST DO…just OBEY. It’s really not that hard. Thank you so much for sharing HIS word with me today 🙂
Amen…..For me too it is a daily thing to do what I know God wants me to do, instead of just doing what I want to do.
Thanks for stopping by and for reading.
