“Do You Want to be Made Well”
In John 5 :1-14 there is a man who was healed at the Pool of Bethesda, you may read the whole story there. After the man was healed Jesus said to him: 14 ” See you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.” So obviously, the man’s sins kept him ill for so many years.
Our sins could be any wrongdoing we are indulging in. Simple things we may not consider as harmful, could also be sins….Overeating is a sin, which could lead to digestive issues, which could then lead to many other health problems. Negative Thinking is a sin, it can severely weaken and impair the mind and the body. Stealing could give one a guilty conscious which then leads to stressful situations; Gossiping is a sin, Judging is a sin, and they can all do damage to our bodies, along with all the others not mentioned here.
I know that many of my own health issues were brought on by my bad eating habits and my negative thinking, just to name a few. God can give us all the strength to overcome, and I’m thankful for the long way that He has brought me.
We also know that God will allow things in our lives so that His glory and His miraculous works can be seen.
John 9 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. 2 And His disciples asked Him saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” 3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. 4 I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
In other words, not all health issues are a result of sin, but some are also allowed that we may see God’s miraculous Hand at work as He heals us.

Thank you so much for taking the time to Read and to Reblog…..
You’re welcome. It’s my pleasure.
in agreement with your post.. regarding your last thought regarding health issues so that we may see the miraculous work of God, this year I was sick from February until the middle of July with one thing after another. I felt so close to the Lord during this time, and surely he brought me through all these things.
Yes, God is good. I myself was sick for most of last winter, just like you one thing after the other…first it was a sore throat, then I lost my voice completely, then it came back but I had a bad cough resulting in an infection…and on and on it went all winter. I hung on to the hem of His garment tightly, and eventually He saw me through. Even as sinful as we (humans) may be, God is such a Wonderful God.
I would like to tell you that in April I had a virus in my brain (so I later found out) and my body went into slow motion including my brain. I lost ability to do a lot of things. One day I was standing in the back yard and thinking about heaven and asking the Lord if I was going to go there when I heard the drone of hummingbird wings and a ruby-throated hummingbird came and hovered in front of my face. It as was something I will never forget and I believe that God sent that hummingbird to comfort me..
He knew just what you needed and when you needed to be Comforted. I find that there is much healing to be found in nature, it could be a bird, a beautiful sunrise or sunset, but usually something that will take the mind off any stressful situations. God is so merciful. I’m glad you’re doing better now.
