Held Captive

I really do prefer photographing Wildlife more than Zoo Animals. Though beautiful, there still is a sadness that comes from them. The surroundings are beautiful, but they are held within certain limits.

Many of us are also held captive mainly by our negative thoughts. We may be brokenhearted and suffering, but it is not going unnoticed by Jesus. He is waiting for us to come to Him.

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, and release from darkness for the prisoners. Isaiah 61:1

Our days of living in captivity will soon be over. Total freedom is just ahead.

According to Scripture, many of us are being deceived by the devil, and he has taken us captives through deceptive philosophy.

See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ. Colossians 2:8

But there is hope, God says we can escape.

and they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will. 2 Timothy 2:26

  1. I look forward to the total freedom of being with Jesus. Regarding the wild animals vs zoo, there is a raptor place not far from where I live where they regularly fly eagles, hawks, owls for visitors to watch. It would be a dream place for close-up photographs but I refuse to go there due to the captivity of the creatures used to entertain.

    1. Well I don’t know what to say except (lol) that I’m guilty as you can see from the Pandas and more than likely will be again this weekend. This will be my second viewing in many years. I’m glad that one day Eden will be restored, but I kknow that God’s heart is breaking even more for His little children than for the animals as much as He cares for them….Oh I also visited one such site at Grouse mountain last year….

      1. I know that the reason I don’t like zoos is because it is so thrilling to see a bear, or an elk, or an eagle or whatever wild creature crosses my path in the wild. I have been to the zoo in Seattle and the one in Calgary and it just isn’t the same as seeing them in the wild. I haven’t been to that bear place on Grouse Mountain.. wouldn’t be the same excitement as having them in your camping spot at night which we have had on several occasions.

  2. “Many of us are also held captive mainly by our negative thoughts.”

Negativity is a false world isn’t it? Jesus tells us nothing is impossible with God and that He came to give us life and more abundantly. Thank you for reminding us.
