A Happy Heart vs Heartache
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
When we witness to others, we will tell them that God wants only what’s best for them, and while that is true, it’s very difficult to see, when you are the one going through the fire. I feel as though I had one of those moments today.
It’s that time of year again, it’s the fall season and the golden rod is flying. Allergies abound, at least they do for me, along with a host of sinus issues. I went to bed late, and then I was up very early, “mouth breathing” and feeling rather uncomfortable. I knew I should have gone to bed early, but it never seems to work out that way. Anyway, there I was this morning desperately praying to God for relief, but nothing seem to be long-lasting. If I didn’t know better I would think that I was being punished.
After a trip to the Health Food Store and some Olbas Oil, and some time spent in fresh air, relief would come. It was a very long day, but still wonderful, even though I am now tired at a much earlier hour.
I know that God wants only what’s best for me. Perhaps He allowed my discomfort, so that I could get into bed at a much earlier hour today, as I am now extremely tired and will soon be going off to bed. I know this may not be a big deal to many, but I see God’s Hand in every area of my life.
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment. Mark 12:30
So it seems as though God has placed on my heart this message, and that is to relay that when all minds are focused on Him (God) there will be no place to harbour negative feelings. There will be no place for feeling the likes of depression. There will be peace, and there will be an abiding hope, that one day we will live in eternity with Him.
When we give God our full attention, it is only then that we will be led in the right direction.
For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up. Ecclesiastes 4:10
The above Scripture is another one that the Pastor mentioned when he spoke on loneliness, he said he thought that the scripture was referring to more that a Physical Fall.” I can see this Scripture referring to something more also…..like an emotional fall. We would more readily speak of a physical wound than an emotional wound. This is where the enemy (Satan) is winning the battle. Many are suffering in silence while the enemy laughs.
So many teenagers and young adults and adult are suffering alone, we smile in front of each other, yet on the inside we are crying. Just think if we all opened up to each other and was a support for one another, what a beautiful world this would be. It would be a great wound to the enemy. We would be seen as caring and sharing with one another. Inmagine my surprise when I was told that when someone ask you how you’re doing, they don’t really care as to how you are really doing, it’s just a conversation maker. I can laugh about this now, but I remeber being asked once how I was doing. I started to vervablize the pain I was feeling, but by that time the person was rounding a corner, waving at me and saying : “Oh that’s wonderful.”
One thing I know for sure and that is, although God made us all unique in many ways, they’re a lot of things that are the same about us. No one person is immune. The doctor who treats us may have his or her own emotional issues, the lawyer, policeman, teacher, reporter etc….we all bleed the same. So let’s fight the battles together and not alone, let’s support each other and most of all, let’s pray to God for emotional healing.
So my church is doing an Evangelistic Series for the next three weeks and on the first night the Pastor touched on the subject of “Loneliness.” It is being spoken of a lot in the news….A few days ago I listened to a program on that very subject. It seems as though many older people are feeling rather alone, especially after the loss of a spouse. We also know that you can have the sense of being alone at any age. I already shared a time in my own life of when I felt alone. TWO DIFFERENT PATHS Now, even though I may spend much time alone, I never feel lonely.
These few word really say a lot, and the Pastor repeated them over and over. “No God, No Peace. No God, No Peace.
Just this morning on the news, it was said that 65% on College and University students are suffering with anxiety issues and some with severe depression, yet I’m also told the new religion these days is to have no religion. Why Complicate Simplicity when life could be so simple!! Why Complicate Simplicity
The next few words he would repeat over and over was:
2 Know God, Know Peace.
It’s really as simple as that. When we are intimately connected to God, we will live more peaceful and contented lives. Feelings of loneliness will vanish. The Pastor also stated that when we seek out a Psychiatrist he will only give a panacea lasting us till the next session. As I’ve stated on my About I’m not telling anyone not to seek professional help, but what I would like for others to know, is that God should not be discounted, after all He is the Healer.
When I came seeking God, it was for the most selfish reasons, but He accepted me anyway. I was seeking physical healing. I searched and searched the bible, prayed, cried out to Him, and He would reveal Himself to me in the most marvelous ways. If you are tormented, if you are in pain, if you are depressed or lonely, whatever you may be suffering from, a solid connection to God is the answer.
There are many examples of living a life without God in the bible. As long as we are willing to make the change, and turn and walk in the right direction, wonderful things can happen in our lives. HOW TWO MEN WERE CURED FROM MENTAL ILLNESS
This blog is from a time in my life when I felt lost and all alone.FROM DESPAIR TO JOYFULNESS God is a Good God, and He is available to all. He brought me where my self-help books couldn’t take me. He brought me, where my positive thoughts alone couldn’t take me. He will never leave me, and I’m so happy to know that I have an everlasting friend.
Taking a dip in the shade on a hot summer’s day.
Although we may not be fully rooted or grounded in our faith, God will patiently wait for us to make appropriate changes in our live, as a mother would wait and watch over her little child.
God is waiting for us to come to Him, to confess our sins, and to accept the forgiveness and the healing that He has to offer.
Once we come before God and ask for forgiveness, He will claim us as His sons and daughters. We will now come to realize that He is always beside us, and not far away as we thought. If we allow Him, He will be our Guide as we take our journey onward.
Psalm 103: 1 – 4
1 Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me;
Bless His holy name!
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not His benefits;
3 Who forgives all our iniquities,
Who heals all our diseases,
4 Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies.
At the right time the leaves are changing colour, and the little Gold Finches, and the House Finches have already started changing colours also. In the spring time the Hand of God will restore the trees with leaves again; the birds will once again migrate and change colours. God has bestowed the freedom of choice on all human beings, and time and again, instead of allowing Him to make the necessary changes in our lives, we keep fighting and resisting Him. Perhaps one day we will accept the crown that He is waiting to give us.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8
Sober: Calm, Clear-headed, Steady, Temperate…..
Vigilant: Attentive, Aware, Cautious, Observant, On Guard……
Adversary: Attacker, Enemy, Foe
Roaring: Blaring, Deafening, Ear – Piercing
Many of us are walking around unaware that we ae being controlled by evil. Because we do not know the Scriptures, because we do not truly have the faith in God that we should, the devil has found an in-road to our minds. He knows just how to tempt us, to make us believe that wrongs are rights. His is the booming voice we will hear, always leading us in the sweetest of ways to make mistakes.
The Scripture tells us to be calm and clear-headed (sober) and if we fully believe, and have faith in the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, way beyond the loudness and the booming of the enemy (devil) we will find the voice of the One who Comforts us. (Holy Spirit, Comforter) We need to search until we find Him, instead of allowing ourselves to be destroyed by the one who roars in our ears.(Devil, Evil, Enemy.)
Almost everyday on the news we will hear of some wrong that has been done. Many times the person will say that “God” told them to do it…..this is how the enemy is manipulating many minds in our world today. He is “Roaring” in many ears right now.
If you are a Christian and believe and are obeying God’s commandment, you have access to the Holy Spirit (Comforter, Helper) and He will give you a mind filled with peace. There is POWER available to everyone who believes. It is the unbelievers who are more affected by the “Roar” of the enemy.
Jesus Promises Another Helper
“If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever-17 The Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans, I will come to you.” John 14:15-18
Jesus Tells Us How To Live
In order to reflect Christ in our lives, this is the way we are supposed to live.
May God grant me the strength to live the way He wants me too, for it can only be accomplish through His strength.
My prayer for all Christian is that we will “Live” the Word as well as we “Say” the Word.
In John 5 :1-14 there is a man who was healed at the Pool of Bethesda, you may read the whole story there. After the man was healed Jesus said to him: 14 ” See you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.” So obviously, the man’s sins kept him ill for so many years.
Our sins could be any wrongdoing we are indulging in. Simple things we may not consider as harmful, could also be sins….Overeating is a sin, which could lead to digestive issues, which could then lead to many other health problems. Negative Thinking is a sin, it can severely weaken and impair the mind and the body. Stealing could give one a guilty conscious which then leads to stressful situations; Gossiping is a sin, Judging is a sin, and they can all do damage to our bodies, along with all the others not mentioned here.
I know that many of my own health issues were brought on by my bad eating habits and my negative thinking, just to name a few. God can give us all the strength to overcome, and I’m thankful for the long way that He has brought me.
We also know that God will allow things in our lives so that His glory and His miraculous works can be seen.
John 9 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. 2 And His disciples asked Him saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” 3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. 4 I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
In other words, not all health issues are a result of sin, but some are also allowed that we may see God’s miraculous Hand at work as He heals us.
