Outward Appearance

We are a society of Surface People. The way we think of ourselves and others are mainly very superficial. We cannot see beyond what’s right before us. Many times we lose out on the joy that would come our way, because we only looked at the outward appearance of a person, and did not take the chance to listen to their hearts. If we would take time to listen instead of just going by looks, or clothing, or money, we would see much more beauty in each other.

The bible is our guide on how we should live and it tells us that we are to believe more in the “unseen.” Most people do not believe in the bible because they do not want to believe in something they cannot see or understand and as a result they live very tortured lives.

2 Corinthians 4:18 We do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

A great example of this would be to believe in the Holy Spirit. If we have faith and believe in Him (even though He can’t be seen) He will strengthen us, He will prompt us and if we are still enough, we will hear His Sweet Melody as he speaks to our minds. On the other hand when we give in to the shallow and the superficial, we are readily giving into the temptations, manipulations and negative emotions of Satan.

I am a Christian who believes in Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I also believe that Jesus will soon return to this earth.

While I speak on Mental Health and Depression in regards to the Bible, I am not discouraging anyone from seeking the help of a professional for treatment. I am also not discouraging anyone from taking medication. Along with their treatment, I truly think the Bible and the Words within should not be discounted.
