You And Your Future

Someone asked me to write on this topic, and immediately it made me pause and think about what could be ahead of me in this life.

I am living my life looking forward to seeing a brighter future. There is so much darkness around us, so much hate, so much evil and despair, but I have to look beyond that to something that is imminent, something that will be bright and glorious. That is the Second coming of Jesus.

As I look forward to that day with joy, I am also praying for an abundance of God’s strength, that I will stay close to Him as a good sheep would, I pray that I will not lose faith and bolt in fright to save my own life, something which I cannot do any way.

When I was young I remember reading the bible and thinking why would Peter do such a thing as to deny Jesus. As I grew older, I realized that I could possibly do the same thing. Now I am at a point in my life, where I am leaning hard on God and asking Him to give me that supernatural power that I will need to stand up and claim Him in all situations. I know it can be done, because sometimes we  hear on the news that some brave souls died, but while faced with the difficult situation, they still did not renouncing Jesus or their Christian faith. Matthew 26:31 [ Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial ] Then Jesus said to them, “All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is written: ‘I will strike the Shepherd, And the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’

We know that horrific things will happen at the end of this world because the bible says so, and it seems to be getting rather horrific out there, so I pray that my future will see me remaining one of God’s faithful sheep (followers) right till the bitter end.

Some of the terms used to describe Sheep are : Obedient, Unquestioning, Conservative, Straight, Predictable, Unadventurous etc. On the other hand, Wolves we know can be Sly, Crafty, Shrewd, Scheming, Unruly, Wild, Unpredictable, Dangerous, etc.

Coywolf:  I will look at her, maybe that will scare her.

In Matthew 10:16 it tells us; [Persecutions, Discrimination, Harassment, Oppression… etc. Are Coming] “Behold I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove.” So Jesus calls us to go out among the sly, crafty, shrewd and  the scheming.

Maybe if I ignore her she will go away.

When we live under the protection of the Father, Son and  Holy Spirit, we will be given the wisdom and the know how to deal with the crafty, shrewd and scheming wild wolf without causing it any harm. It’s not an easy task at times, but God calls every Christian to be meek and mild mannered in our spirit regardless of the situation that is set out before us.

Luke 10:3 “Go your way: behold I send you out as lambs among wolves.”

Coywolf On the move

Being meek and mild does not equate to weakness as most would think. God gives us His inner strength to deal with all our circumstances.

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Victory.”

Turkey Vulture

There are many Victories that can be gained in one’s life. I would gain the “Victory on this particular day by getting over my fear of heights long enough to board a Gondola and then head up to Grouse Mountain.

Great Horned Owl

I didn’t know it at the time, but my reward awaiting me at the top was the opportunity to photograph some of the most beautiful scenes in nature. Another “Victory” on that day, was, that I lost some camera equipment, but found it again.

Ripped From the Headlines: Space Junk About to Hit Earth

Full Moon

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Ripped from the Headlines!.”

The headline that grabbed my attention was one which read “Space junk to hit Earth.” Astronomers are tracking it, and they think it will test our readiness for any future atmospheric events. (CNN News)

Someone is about to return to this earth, and I’m not sure how many are tracking His approach. While we do not know when His actual return is, we do know that there are signs that tell us that His coming is near. Matthew 24: 36 But of the day and hour (of Jesus return) no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, but my Father only. Now is the time for us to get ready so that we may be saved. Some of the sign that shows us we are living at the end of time are:

1 Many people using God’s name, when they do not really know who He is.

2 Much unrest with nation fighting against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.

3 There will be famines, pestilences (Plagues, viruses, deadly diseases,)  and earthquakes. We now see these things more frequently, thus Global Warming.

4 Christians being killed and hated because they believe in God.

5 There will be an abundance of lawlessness (anarchy, chaos, disorder, unruliness,) whatever you choose to call it, it is a sign of the end of times.

6 The love of many will grow cold….all this is taken from Matthew 24

At this moment in the world, hate seems to be thriving, but we know that it will not win out. The bigger battle that is ongoing right now, but not being seen by many is a battle between God and Satan, a battle between Good and Evil. This battle is taking place in each of our minds, and we will either lean toward the “Good” which is from “God, or we will go towards the “Evil” which is from Satan. This is what God will do for us when we keep our minds focus on Him. “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed (remains) on you. Because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3. And if our minds are not focused on Christ, we are saying we choose to walk with Satan, there is no middle ground I see here. We either choose to walk in light or in darkness.

So just as the scientist track the Space Junk that is about to hit this earth, year after year, we are to look at the signs around us, prepare ourselves, and know that the coming of the Lord is near, and He will soon break the clouds in all His glory.

Time To Mingle

A Momma's View

You know what? I think it’s time to mingle again. How about we get together and party a little bit? Come over and meet some other bloggers, maybe bring a friend as well? I love meeting new people, so share the news.

It’s easy:

Raindrops on a Peony

I remember a time in my life when I felt helpless and lost. Nothing was going right. Sickness and Pain had become my best friend. I often thought about God and if He was real, why was He not helping me. My search through the Bible would make me realize that just as we require things from God, He also requires something from us and that is our total Obedience to Him. There is no other way. We will have to shed our bad ways, dying to all self-will if we are to get close to God. I found God wanted to lead me in a total different direction than the one in which I was heading. Even though I resisted at first, I did know that His way was the better way, and eventually I did allow Him to be my Guide.

Help me to feel joy,

Instead of pain.

Help me to feel sunshine,

Even when it rains.

So many things

To bring us down,

Please help me keep searching

For that golden crown.

I Am with you always.

Let me carry your pain.

Please, don’t walk off

Still carrying your shame.

You hold on to afflictions

As if prizes to possess.

All I ask is repentance.

All you need to do is confess.

Freedom lies with Me my child;

Don’t let Satan hold you down.

Step out in faith, cling to My hand,

Keep reaching for that golden crown.

Come my child,

Come rest in Me.

And see the demons flee.

When we dare to step out in faith, there will be a shift in our thinking as we allow God’s Holy Spirit to lead us. He transforms us into happy positive beings….if we will allow Him, as He will never force Himself on us. The negativity and the demonic hold of Satan in our lives will start to fade away.

And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. Daniel 2:21

Fallen Leaves & Squabbling Shore Birds

Many Shore birds, mainly Yellowlegs and Killdeer were in the marsh on this day. Two Shore birds in particular kept sparring with each other.

The leaves know just when to change and when to fall. The birds know when it’s time to stop frolicking, and when it’s time to head south.

High Park is the place to go in the spring to see the Cherry Blossoms, and then again in the fall to see the beauty of the fall colours. There is also lots of wildlife around; wood ducks, mallards, geese, woodpeckers etc.

I am thankful to God for the beauty He has given, to fresh and to revive our souls and our minds. Even though the world is greatly flawed because of evil, there is still much in nature that can bring us joy.

Many people think that all the birds disappear in the winter, but while many leave, there are also lots of awesome creatures that stay around, and others come to visit, making winter a very beautiful time for birding.  The hole in the tree below looks like a great place for an owl to make it’s home.

The dictionary meaning of the word meditate is: to contemplate, to ponder, to think, to consider, to reflect, to ruminate, to muse, to turn over in one’s mind.

Sunset at English Bay BC

There are many places in the Bible which speak on Meditating. All through the Psalms references are made. In many of the references when David is meditating he is thinking on the laws of God or he is thinking on the wonderful works of His Maker.

I will meditate on your precepts , And contemplate Your ways. Psalm 119:15

I will also meditate on all Your work, and talk of all Your deeds. Psalm 77:12

Why is it then that when we speak of meditating today, we speak of clearing the mind. We seem to think that a mind empty of everything will bring us peace, yet the Bible says that can be a very dangerous thing. The verses below speak of a man whose mind was cured of all evil spirits or negative ways. Instead of changing his ways he continued on the same path and ended up worse that before. So an empty mind does not mean a peaceful mind.

The Danger of Emptiness Luke 11

“When an evil spirit comes out of someone, it travels through dry places, looking for a place to rest. But it finds no place to rest. So it says, ‘I will go back to the home I left.’ 25 When it comes back, it finds that home all neat and clean. 26 Then the evil spirit goes out and brings back seven other spirits more evil than itself. They all go and live there, and that person has even more trouble than before.” Easy to Read Version (ERV)

So from this we can see that we are never to leave our minds empty. As we rid our minds of negative thinking, we must keep filling the mind with positive thoughts….God’s thoughts.

[ Meditate on These Things ] Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if

there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.Philippians 4:8 New King James Version (NKJV)
